Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership of all scms in country activities
• Collaborate with key in-country partners and organizations to strategically promote, inform and build support for hiv/aids commodity logistics interventions
• Provide project updates to client and partner organizations to effectively manage client expectations and ensure partner coordination
• Monitor and report on workplans and performance in meeting project milestones and goals
• Provide oversight, manage and ensure reporting on project budgets, finances and administration
• Develop and advance technical/quality standards, guidelines and tools related to the implementation and monitoring project and country work
• Identify, document and promote hiv/aids commodity security issues
• Represent the scms in guatemala program at meetings with donors, partners and collaborators on commodity security issues
• Lead, facilitate and participate in hiv/aids logistics training workshops and provide on-the-job logistics training as needed
• Participate in the recruitment process for other technical staff as needed
• Identify, share and document lessons learned, best practices and project innovations
• Knowledge of warehousing, quantification and supply planning, human resource capacity development, and logistics management information systems.
• Support the coordination of any scms activities with usaid | deliver project and other usaid projects.
Qualifications:
• A qualified pharmacist, or other public health professional with at least three years experience in hiv/aids logistics; or experienced logistician with at least four years experience in hiv/aids
• Experience in managing client expectations and competing priorities
• Ability to lead and effectively manage teams
• Ability to write and speak both english and spanish
• Ability to effectively communicate and present complex hiv/aids supply chain technical information to diverse audiences
• Ability to work on multicultural teams to develop strategy and manage implementation of projects
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency in microsoft business suite (eg. Word, powerpoint, excel)
• Able to travel for an extended period of time in country to support technical activities
• Able to travel internationally to attend trainings and conferences as needed
Duration:
This is a one year, full-time, local hire position, based in guatemala city with the possibility of extending depending on donor funding. This position does not include allowances.
