Xerox is seeking an Oracle DBA to work in a fast paced environment. Ideal candidates must be enthused about database administration, quick learning and self starting. This is a demanding role that will require hands-on experience with database management, Linux/Unix, hardware, networking and security. You will be responsible for database migration and troubleshooting for both production and development environments. We are seeking a candidate with great skills in Oracle RAC, SQL Server, SQL Server cluster, GoldenGate, database tuning, backup, maintenance, PLSQL and Linux who is passionate about database administration. This position is 24 x 7 and includes production support.
Responsibilities:
*Responsible for database backup and restore
*Primary on day to day schema changes and database maintenance
*Help developers to optimize queries, stored procedure and database design
*Assists in developing and implementing best practices for DR and Backups
*Assists in evaluating and selecting equipment, services and vendors
*Define and implementing maintenance plan for the database systems
*Communicate with client and DBA team members for ongoing projects and requests

Skills: Oracle 11g, Oracle RAC, SQL Server 2005/2008 and GoldenGate, Performance Tuning, Grid Control. Significant opportunity to work with SQL Server.
Requirements:
*Solid understanding of Oracle database design principals
*Minimum 5-7 year experience with Oracle database version 11g, 2-3 years? experience with SQL Server database support
*Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues
*Solid Knowledge of Linux, AIX, SAN storage and network, their effect on oracle database performance
*Minimum 3-5 years Experience in Oracle RAC, GoldenGate solution and other database replication methodologies
*Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting in co-location environments
*Previous experience with large database migration between Data Center, must have experience with different migration methodologies - Transportable tablespaces, RMAN, datapump, Goldengate, dataguard, Oracle streams
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment
*Bachelor's degree
*fluent English speaking and good communication with client is a must
