This position requires the candidate to be based in Guatemala City.

Responsibilities:

* Acquire and interpret business requirements, creates a functional specification.

* Submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations as a member of the technical leadership team.

* Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices.

* Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies.
* Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.

* Maintain and modify web applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.

* Provide support for critical web application problems and issues.

* Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required.

* Train and teach other developers.
Required Qualifications:

* Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or technical degree

* Senior level developer (3+ years experience developing web applications)

* 3+ years of experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.

* 3+ years of experience with J2EE and Web Applications, including Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), Java Servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), JavaScript, and web standards markup.

* Experience with Struts, Spring, JSF, JSTL, JCR, Hibernate, JPA.

* Experience with application servers like BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, Tomcat, JBoss.

* Experience with RDBMS like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL.

* Experience with AngularJS or equivalent technology

* Experience with Maven, Gradle, Ant and similar build systems• Experience with data exchange formats such XML, JSON.

* Experience with JQuery and others.

* Highly motivated top performer, strong software design and debugging skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Works well both in a team and individually.

* Desire and ability to learn quickly, take professional risks, and operate in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies.

* Experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems Self-motivated and able to work independently

* Ability to deliver on promised dates
