MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Administration, operational and installation support of Point of Sale (POS) environment including servers, desktops, terminals and peripheral devices. IT Technical support required for the 2015 Retrofits and Software Migrations schedule for the countries that PriceSmart operate stores.
Countries: Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Trinidad, USVI, Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Colombia
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
* 3+ years of hands-on Windows systems administration, support, and operational experience including: 2003/2008 Windows Server, VMware, SQL Server 2008, desktops Windows 7, terminals - POS Ready 7 os and peripheral device support
* Provide support of the POS environment during HW retrofits, SW migrations and new device installations in the various countries
* Follow company policy, standards and procedures while assisting in POS rollouts and new installations
* Must be a positive, motivated, effective team-oriented IT professional able to take direction
* Provide in-depth systems and application troubleshooting and resolution while working with POS team onsite, POS software vendor and In-Country support staff
* Update and maintain POS related documentation and procedures
* Provide backup support for POS issues for POS team located in San Diego, USA
* Flexible work schedule required to support the 2015 rollout schedule
Skills:
• 3+ years of hands-on systems administration, support, and operational experience including: 2003/2008 Windows Server, VMware, SQL Server 2008, desktops, terminals and peripheral device support.
• Travel required, Flexible work schedule
• Prefer experience supporting Point of Sale (POS) systems and software
• Experience or working knowledge in Database Administration for SQL 2008 server specifically in supporting upgrades, backup/recovery/replication and transaction log troubleshooting
• Good written and oral communication skills are required
• Self-starter with the ability to learn new technical skills quickly in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player
• Bilingual: English/ Spanish
