SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for administering all facets in the Freight Services area Import/Export . This may include one or all of the following: cargo booking, tariff publishing and/or preparation, processing and distribution of related paperwork in conformity with Customs and Census regulations and in conjunction with vessel and operation schedules and deadlines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the processes between Freight Services and traffic, equipment control, inter modal and terminal operations to resolve issues and maintain effective communication to ensure needs are met.
Ensures processes are timely and accurately performed in conformance with established requirements to ensure customer satisfaction.
May monitor telephone calls and customer feedback ensuring quality and efficient handling of phone calls (applicable to the booking department and import department).
Participates in any required analysis towards ensuring compliance with established key measures.
Develops and recommends changes to procedures and work processes to maximize efficiency and productivity ensuring continuous improvement. Ensures compliance with company policies.
Works closely with direct reports promoting work group organization and develops teams’ approach to problem solving. Promotes open lines of communication with team and other disciplines to ensure smooth handling of day to day activities. Remains knowledgeable in the Common Carrier and Tariff systems (CICS, EZ Tariff, Crowley on-line System and/or any new systems) and ensures proper training is provided to the users as required. Supports the performance appraisal process by effectively reporting employee development.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related

EXPERIENCE:
2 years supervisory experience in import, export, transportation, logistics and contact center environment
Minimum 4 years transportation experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:
All Crowley positions require proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Some positions may also include proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications

COMPETENCIES:
Ability to train and direct the activities of others. Bilingual is required (English/Spanish). Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience using good judgement in developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Requires the ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope
